Join us 6-7 April 2024, in Melbourne at the Treasury Gardens for the Australian Tree Climbing Championships.

Arb Open Day 2024 is a family day out at the Australia Tree Climbing Championship, Treasury Gardens, Melbourne.
Watch the climbing competition action in the trees, explore the arb stalls and discover some very cool tree stuff. A series of activities will be running all day designed especially with the kids in mind, including the popular Kid's Climb.

Australia’s best tree climbers will battle it out for the national title. 30+ arborists and talented tree climbers will compete in the Australia Tree Climbing Championship on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April 2024 at Treasury Gardens in Melbourne.
The competition kicks off at 8am on Saturday 6 April with the preliminary events and continues throughout the day on. These preliminary events test competitors’ ability to professionally and safely manoeuvre in a tree while performing work-related tree-care tasks efficiently.
The final championship round – the Masters’ Climb – for the men’s and women’s national titles begins at approximately 8am on Sunday 7 April 2024.
The eventual champions will then represent Australia at the 2024 International Tree Climbing Championships.

Also, free to the public on Saturday 6 April is a series of short 'Outdoor Tree Talks'. The Talks will cover a range of tree related topics, presented by experts in their respective fields, designed to entertain, inform, and engage.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase all day

Saturday 6 April 2024
8am-4.30pm - Australia Tree Climbing Championship, Preliminary Tree Climbing Events
9am-3pm - All ages climb for kids and kids-at-heart to try their skills
10am & 11am (20 mins) - Arborists Don't Grow on Trees Walking Tour, learn about Tree Climbing Competitions and a Career in Arboriculture
12-2pm - Ask an Arborist, provided by McLeod Trees. Bring in your photos and your questions and ask our senior arborist for advice.

9am - Aerial Rescue demonstration
12pm - Tech talk - hear about all the latest gear from our event partners and suppliers
1pm - Ascent Techniques
