Mistletoe: the misunderstood woodland superhero!

Mistletoe is a remarkable plant that essentially “supercharges” the woodlands and forests where it occurs. It provides a perennial food source for many bird, mammal and insect species through its foliage, flowers, and fruits. Another important biodiversity benefit of having healthy mistletoe populations on agricultural lands and within our woodlands and forests, is that it encourages a diversity of invertebrates that inhabit the humus-like leaf-litter beneath the mistletoe clumps, providing food for a declining guild of birds, ground-foraging insectivores.

Protect Our Trees

Let’s stop the spread of this deadly tree beetle. That was the goal at a recent event in Hyde Park, north of Perth’s CBD.

Celebrating industry wins - Arboriculture retains spot on the Core Skills Occupation List!

Arb Aus is thrilled to share that 'Arborist' has successfully remained on the 2024 Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL) after this year’s government review.

Earlier this year, Arborist was at risk of being removed from the list— the main document used by the Australian Government to guide immigration policy and allocate visa categories for skilled workers.

A shout out to everyone who took the time to contribute, submit and advocate for our profession. Your input has been vital in shaping government policy and ensuring the importance of our industry is acknowledged.

The 2024 Core Skills Occupation List Key Findings Report was released by JSA and informed the Government’s decision announced on 3 December 2024.
